THANK YOU TO OUR SUPPORTERS:
National Trails Day at Bluff Lake Nature Center
Join us for a fun morning of trail work, invasive species removal and tree plantings at Bluff Lake Nature Center!
Get outside, have fun, and feel good about volunteering on June 2nd! National Trails Day is celebrating twenty years of hosting volunteer events across the country. National Trails Day is a great event for families to get outside and enjoy the outdoors together. REI is a supporter of National Trails Day. Join us for a fun morning of trail work, invasive species removal and tree plantings. Bluff Lake Nature Center occupies 123 acres adjacent to Sand Creek on the eastern edge of the Stapleton development. It offers a variety of native habitats including a seasonal lake, wetlands, short-grass prairie, a riparian zone and wetland woodland. Thanks to its 60 year history as an airport buffer, Bluff Lake has become an urban wildlife refuge for waterfowl, shorebirds, raptors, songbirds, deer, fox, beaver, reptiles, amphibians and other types of wildlife that visit or live at the site. Breakfast and lunch provided. Please bring a water bottle and gloves. Event check-in and breakfast begin at 8AM. Due to the nature of the project, please wear hiking/work boots and dress appropriately for our ever-changing Colorado weather. No dogs, please. Registration will take place on-site.
